Zydex Paints Showcases Breathable Surfaces as a Foundation for Sustainable Construction at AAA Conclave 2026
At
AAA Conclave 2026, hosted by the Association of Architects Assam at
Courtyard by Marriott, Shillong from April 3 to 5, Zydex Paints highlighted
breathable surfaces as an essential element in advancing sustainable and
responsible construction practices. The conclave brought together architects,
designers, and industry stakeholders to discuss regionalism in architecture and
climate-responsive building approaches across the Northeast.
Against
the backdrop of growing environmental concerns and performance challenges in
humid climates, Zydex Paints presented its silicate mineral paint technology as
a practical solution to one of the construction sector’s most persistent
issues: trapped moisture within walls. Unlike conventional acrylic coatings
that tend to seal surfaces, Zydex’s mineral paints are designed to allow water
vapour to escape while resisting liquid water ingress, helping keep structures
dry, durable, and healthier over time.
This
approach is particularly relevant for high-humidity regions such as Northeast
India, where moisture-related deterioration, fungal growth, and reduced coating
life are common building concerns. By addressing moisture at its source,
breathable surfaces support longer building life, lower maintenance cycles, and
more climate-aligned construction outcomes.
Speaking
on the occasion, Mr. Amrendra Mishra, Chief Operating Officer, Zydex
Industries, emphasized the need for a fundamental shift in how buildings
are protected and preserved. “The future of construction is not about
sealing buildings tighter; it is about enabling them to breathe. We are
manufacturing paints that breathe to protect, preserve, and become a part of
structures for decades.”
The
discussions at AAA Conclave 2026 reflected a broader industry movement toward
materials and systems that perform in harmony with climate, context, and
long-term sustainability goals. In this evolving construction narrative,
breathable mineral surfaces are emerging not just as a product innovation, but
as a strategic foundation for resilient and responsible architecture.
With
its focus on high-performance silicate mineral coatings, Zydex Paints continues
to champion solutions that combine durability, breathability, and
sustainability for the buildings of the future.
