appointment of Mr. Chandra Shekhar Verma as an Independent Director of Shyam
Metalics and Energy Limited w.e.f. 4th
July, 2024. He is a reputed professional and has profound knowledge and experience
of more than four decades in the Public Sector undertakings, particularly in
the steel sector.

certifies him as a true techno-commercial professional and a distinguished
leader who has held significant roles in numerous prestigious organizations of
the country.
Mr. Chandra Shekhar Verma
will join the strategic advisory board and participate in all key
decision-making processes related to the company's growth and development.

Prior to joining Shyam
Metalics, Mr. Verma served as the Chairman & Managing Director of Steel
Authority of India Limited (SAIL) from June 2010 to June 2015. Under his
leadership, SAIL achieved significant milestones including substantial capacity
expansion, strategic partnerships, and international recognition. He also held
additional charges such as CMD of National Mineral Development Corporation
(NMDC) and Chairman of International Coal Ventures Limited (ICVL).
Throughout his career, Mr.
Verma has been recognized for his exceptional contributions to the industry,
receiving prestigious awards such as the 'CEO of the Year' Platts Global Metals
Awards and the IIM-JRD Tata Award for Excellence in Corporate Leadership in Metallurgical
Industries.
Mr. Verma was the First
President of the Indian Steel Association, the apex body of the Indian Steel
Industry. He was the Chairman of the ‘National Committee of Steel’ of
Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). He was member of the Council of
Scientific and Industrial Research Society (CSIR) headed by the Hon’ble Prime
Minister of India. He was also Board Member, World steel Association and
Council Member of Indian Institute of Metals. He was the Member of the Board of
Governors and Society of Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Raipur.
Mr. Verma holds a Master of
Commerce (M. Com), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Fellow member of
the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (FICMA), Fellow member of the
Institute of Company Secretaries of India (FCS), and Bachelor of Law &
Legislatures (LLB).
Mr. Verma's appointment is
anticipated to bolster Shyam Metalics' market position and propel the company's
strategic development into its next phase of growth.
