The Deendayal Port
Authority in Gujarat is set to issue a new tender for a multipurpose cargo
berth at Tuna Tekra, targeting Rs.17.19 billion in private investment. This
marks the third attempt to attract bidders, offering significant concessions,
including a waiver on minimum guaranteed throughput for the first four to five
years. The terminal is designed to handle 18.33 million tonnes of cargo,
excluding liquids and containers, to meet rising demand projected to exceed
current capacity by 2030, supporting essential commodities and accommodating
ships up to 100,000 deadweight tonnes.
