ICRA anticipates that
engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) companies will unlock ₹2 lakh
crore in business opportunities over the next decade due to four key river
interlinking (ILR) projects. The prioritized projects—Ken Betwa, Kosi-Mechi,
Parbati Kalisindh Chambal, and Godavari-Cauvery—are expected to yield ₹80,000
crore in contracts within four years. Funded mainly by the central government,
these initiatives aim to enhance irrigation and flood control. However,
effective collaboration with state governments is essential for timely project
execution, with the Ken Betwa project already underway.
