9 Indian Ports Ranked in Global Top 100 for Container Efficiency by World Bank

Nine major Indian ports have achieved recognition in the Global Top 100 of the Container Port Performance Index (CPPI) 2023, as reported by the World Bank and S&P Global Market Intelligence. This accolade underscores India's strides in port modernization and efficiency enhancement under the Sagarmala programme. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal attributes the success to initiatives aimed at technological advancement and operational efficiency. Vishakhapatnam Port led with impressive metrics, reflecting its robust container handling capabilities. Other top-performing ports include Pipavav, Kamarajar, Cochin, Hazira, Krishnapatnam, Chennai, and Jawaharlal Nehru, affirming India's competitiveness in maritime logistics.
