Around the Delhi NCR region, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is constructing a sizable semi-high-speed rail network. One of the three major corridors being built in the first phase is the Delhi-Alwar Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). The semi-high speed rails will have an average speed of 105 km/h and a top speed of 160 km/h. The project is currently in its initial stage in Gurugram, where a total of 16 stations will be built. By December 2024, Phase 1 is anticipated to be completed, and by April 2025, the stretch should be operational. Preconstruction work in Gurgaon began in May 2022.
The national capital will be connected to NCR areas by the Delhi-Alwar RRTS, while Gurugram will get four stops and a metro.
