The elevated corridor on New Natham Road is set to open in January 2023.

The elevated corridor, which is said to be the longest in Tamil Nadu, runs from IOC junction to Chettikulam. The work under the Bharatmala Paroyojana Scheme, which began in November 2018, was supposed to be finished by November 2020. It was extended by two years due to the disruption caused by the COVID lockdown and the delay in shifting service lines.

"The elevated corridor is designed for a top speed of 80 kilometres per hour." However, a speed limit of 30 kmph would be imposed on the arms to ensure vehicle safety," the official added.
