The CII will host EXCON in Bengaluru beginning on May 17.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) announced the launch of EXCON during a roadshow in Vijayawada, which was attended by high-ranking Indian government officials, infrastructure and construction equipment makers, and other industry experts, among others.

CII will hold EXCON, South Asia's major construction equipment and technology trade expo, at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre from May 17 to 21, 2019.

According to MT Krishna Babu, the Principal Secretary of the Indian Ministry of Infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has prioritised improving infrastructure efficiency and lowering logistical expenses for businesses (Transport, Roads, and Buildings). According to him, only one other state, Alaska, has received as many national highway projects as any other state. According to the official, a new greenfield express route between Vijayawada and Bangalore may significantly cut travel time between the two cities.

According to TR Bharathan, a steering committee member and senior adviser at Puzzolana Group, the subject of this year's EXCON is "Building India for a New World: Competitiveness, Growth, Sustainability, Technology." To make India a global manufacturing centre for construction equipment, it is necessary to show the value of innovation in infrastructure development.

Mr Bharathan added that the Gati Shakti programme, unveiled by the Union government, will undoubtedly provide a slew of chances for OEMs and infrastructure corporations. It is claimed that the Gati Shakti initiative would merge the seven engines of development, such as roads, ports, and railroads, which are now in the works. Local and regional highways would be linked to state highways, connected to the nation's highway system. This would hasten the building of infrastructure.

UJM Rao, the Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd, and Durgesh Kumar Dubey, the Deputy Chairman of the Visakhapatnam Port Authority, both spoke.

In attendance were D. Tirupathi Raju, immediate past chairman of the CII of Andhra Pradesh, and Ragam Kishore, chairman of the CII Zone.
