Silver Sponsor at ARCASIA 2026, Zydex Paints brings heritage-rooted mineral silicate technology into discussions on climate-responsive, durable and contemporary architecture.

Zydex Paints & Waterproofing, part of the Zydex Group, participated as a Silver Sponsor at the 23rd ARCASIA Forum 2026, hosted by the Indian Institute of Architects at the Jaipur Exhibition & Convention Centre (JECC) and Novotel Jaipur on September 11 and 12, 2026.

The Jaipur leg formed the centrepiece of ARCASIA’s multi-city programme across Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, bringing together more than 3,000 architects from 24 Asian nations under the theme “Bringing Back… Vernacular Wisdom.”

Connecting Vernacular Wisdom with Modern Materials

The Forum featured an extensive programme of architectural dialogue, including eight parallel sessions addressing various sub-themes. The speaker line-up included Ar. Riken Yamamoto, Prof. Philip F. Yuan, Prof. Brinda Somaya, Prof. Rafiq Azam, Ar. Shirish Beri and Ar. Sanjay Puri, bringing diverse perspectives from across the Asian architectural community.

Alongside the conference programme, a building materials exhibition featuring more than 100 exhibitors showcased new materials, technologies and product innovations. The exhibition provided a platform for architects to engage directly with material solutions shaping contemporary buildings.

For Zydex, the Forum offered an opportunity to introduce mineral silicate paint technology into the architectural conversation. First developed in 1878, silicate paint technology has been used on façades for more than 140 years. Zydex is bringing this heritage-rooted technology to the Indian market at a time when architects and developers are increasingly assessing building materials on parameters beyond aesthetics, including durability, climate responsiveness and long-term performance.

Mineral Chemistry for Long-Term Building Performance

India’s paints and coatings market is valued at USD 12.51 billion in 2026, while the architectural coatings segment is estimated at USD 10.59 billion. Meanwhile, India’s green building materials market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 11.3% to reach USD 32.2 billion by 2032.

These trends are contributing to greater interest in coating systems capable of responding to varied climatic conditions while supporting longer building lifecycles.

Unlike conventional acrylic coatings that form a film over a wall surface, silicate mineral paints chemically bond with compatible mineral substrates. This enables walls to release moisture vapour while helping resist fading, peeling and weather-related deterioration. The technology is particularly suited to mineral substrates such as brick, plaster and stone, allowing architects to preserve the character of traditional materials while incorporating contemporary performance requirements.

Advancing Climate-Responsive Building Envelopes

At ARCASIA 2026, Zydex’s participation included executive engagement led by COO Amrendra Mishra, technical consultations with architects and discussions around climate-responsive and heritage-sensitive building envelopes.

The company’s exterior coating range is designed to support fade resistance, reduced dirt pick-up and long-term colour stability under Indian climatic conditions, while its interior range focuses on low-VOC, breathable finishes for contemporary indoor environments.

Through its participation at ARCASIA 2026, Zydex aims to broaden the architectural coatings conversation beyond decorative finishes and highlight the role of coating chemistry in façade longevity, moisture management and durable building performance.
