Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said that the Indian infrastructure must be brought up to international standards.

He said, "I have chosen to bring the road infrastructure of India, including Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, up to U.S. standards by the end of 2024."

In Mumbai, Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (ACCE) is hosting a conference for Civil Engineers and Professionals from Allied Industries.

The minister urged the engineers and industry experts at the conference by stating that India has enormous infrastructural potential. "There is enormous opportunity for road building, river connection, solid and liquid waste management, parking lots, irrigation, busports, ropeways, and cable car projects in the Indian infrastructure," he stated.

Gadkari said, in reference to different current projects of the Ministry of Road, Transport, and Highways: "We are constructing 26 Green Express Highways and Logistics parks at a cost of two trillion yen. In addition, we have a plethora of unique infrastructure development strategies ".
