To support India's Net Zero goals, Tata Power and AutoGrid are expanding AI-enabled smart energy management in Mumbai.
To manage peak demand and
aid India's transition to sustainable energy, AutoGrid and Tata Power have
announced a new plan to roll out a demand response programme across
residential, commercial, and industrial consumers. To reduce peak capacity by
75 MW during the first six months and then scale up to 200 MW by the summer of
2025, the programme seeks to recruit 55,000 residential users and 6,000 major
C&I customers. By opting to reduce their load in response to signals sent
via text messages and/or emails, consumers can receive rewards. To empower
customers and encourage a hi-tech energy-saving culture, Tata Power and
AutoGrid have teamed up to develop an AI-enabled demand energy response system.
India has seen rapid growth in DERs, but the lack of a singular, scalable
programme has hindered progress.
