The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the 100% acquisition of IntelliSmart Infrastructure Private Limited by Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) in a deal valued at ₹3,050 crore. This acquisition is expected to further strengthen the Adani Group's presence in India's growing smart metering and power infrastructure sector.

Under the proposed deal, AESL will acquire the entire equity stake in IntelliSmart from the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) and Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL). The transaction also includes the redemption of 'Optionally Convertible Debentures' (OCDs) held by the NIIF.

IntelliSmart Infrastructure is engaged in the deployment of advanced metering systems for electricity and smart gas meters across the country. Meanwhile, AESL operates in the sectors of power transmission, distribution, and advanced metering infrastructure.

The CCI confirmed this approval in an official statement. Earlier in June, AESL had announced that it had entered into a binding agreement to acquire the company. This move represents a significant step toward the expansion of the company's smart metering business.
