At the Deendayal port in India, DP World has been awarded a significant concession to build, run, and maintain a mega-container terminal with a capacity of 2.19 million TEUs. A mega-container terminal called Tuna Tekra will be built by DP World in Gujarat, connecting Northern, Western, and Central India to international trade and generating profit for all parties involved. Through a Public-Private Partnership, the project entails building a massive container terminal in Tuna-Tekra (PPP). The terminal will have a 1,100-meter berth when it is finished, and it can handle ships carrying more than 18,000 TEUs. There will be 2.19 million TEUs in total capacity. Already, DP World runs five maritime terminals: two in Mumbai, one in Mundra, one in Cochin, and one in Chennai.
