Kaushik Group by Mr. Saumil Shah,(Director) in a recent interview exclusively given to CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY TODAY.
In our endeavor to serve our local and global customers we are ramping up our facility at Sanand to increase manufacturing capacity by 300%.This will be the most modern manufacturing unit with state of art floor shop equipped with automated and IT enabled manufacturing and office facilities. From early 2018 will start producing plants of 240-300 TPH.
At Excon, we will unveil our first indigenized Concrete Batching Plant.
Q. How will the new unit at Sanand foster your development plans?
A. Our aim is to keep upgrading and expanding our product line to stay in tune with market trends. Our approach is to first provide the solution after understanding the customer need and then provide them with precise plant/equipment. The Sanand plant will make our vision with a reality.
Our Sanand plant is envisaged attuned with modern business practices and IT enabled manufacturing and office facilities to meet International standards.
Currently, we manufacture 120 to 160 TPH asphalt batch mix plants, which are the most in demand capacity plants in India. We are also in the process of broadening our asphalt plant range for road projects with longer stretches.
Keeping in mind, the growing demand for higher capacity plants from contractors involved in bigger projects are also included in our plans. Hence, we are ramping up our facility at Sanand in Ahmedabad to increase manufacturing capacity by 300%,
From early 2018 we will start producing plants between 240-300 TPH there. We will require efficient floor shop facilities enabling quality, speed and logistics for our demanding customers worldwide.
Q. What is the unique selling proposition (USP) of your plants?
A. Our plants are designed for maximum efficiency and minimum operation cost
With the growing competition in the market, the survival of the fittest is the order of the day. It would be would be very hard to survive unless we maintain good quality and services at cost effective price.
It is endeavor from the very inception of the company to have the prime focus to provide best quality and services with cost competitiveness. Our plants are designed for maximum efficiency and minimum operation cost. They are manufactured on proven European technology of Cesan and are advanced programme logic controlled enabled, yet they do not come with higher levels of automation, which makes them absolutely operator-friendly.
The plant can reduce energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and improve efficiencies by reducing fuel consumption with its completely self-designed dryer, which operates in basic principle heat transfer to the aggregate. For each ton of asphalt, a minimum one litre of fuel can be saved. Further, based on modular design, the plants are easier to install and dismantle within 15-20 days.
We have been constantly upgrading and launching our products as per demand, trends and customer requirements. Our R&D team works hard, not only to improve the productivity, efficiency and reliability of our existing machines, but also to introduce new products.
Q. Let us know about your dealer network?
A. We're expanding our dealer network looking to the rising demand and the numbers of plants installed.
We give preventive, periodic maintenance instructions/services to customers, and in case of any problem, our service engineers are 24x7 on call support. As proximity to customers brings key benefits to businesses, we're expanding our dealer network too.
By providing customers with quality, delivery, installation, instruction and after-sale services, we are setting high standards and applying advanced technology for growing our business.
Q. How do you see the newly introduced GST bill? Has the bill impacted your business?
A. We see demonetization, GST and emission norms as positive steps in the long term. No doubt, demonetization has impacted businesses for two-three months, but businesses will recover fast. Any changes are resisted at first. But looking to the example of the GST in countries that have adopted, the temporary impact will be minimized and good results will show up soon.
Our first half of 2017 was quite good for us. However, the post GST, sales again came down due to lack of understanding, registration, Classifications, process etc, This is now coming back to normal again.
Q. How do you see your progress so far?
A. With every passing year, we are penetrating the markets with our global standard technologies. Today, we are recognized as a reputed road construction equipment manufacturer in India. We have installed over 25 Asphalt Batch Mix Plants so far in various states of India, and in less than 30 months after manufacturing the first plant in 2014.
We are optimistic with our new asphalt batch mix plant which will be able to process RAP materials and will entirely be as per the standards of Cesan
