Puzzolana: Six Decades of Excellence in Crushing & Screening

zCan you share insights into Puzzolana's legacy and its extensive experience in the core industry?

An ISO 9001:2015 group with six decades of long journey translating vision into reality in design, manufacturing of Crushing & Screening plants for Infra Mining & Recycling. Puzzolana focuses in developing technologies to suit Indian operating conditions from concept to commissioning Upto 1200TPH Crushing & Screening Plants of Stationary, Modular, Wheeled, Crawler and Sand Plants for production of Aggregates, Sand, Metallic & Non Metallic minerals.  Road making Machineries like Road Pavers & Road Milling machines.

Puzzolana, from its very inception has been a strong believer of #MakeInIndia & #AtmaNirbhar-Bharat with the setting up of an in-house design / R&D centre where new products are conceived & designed and state-of-the-art in-house five major manufacturing facilities in Hyderabad & a large casting facility in Dharwad. With regular feedback from service engineering & customers, Puzzolana constantly improves existing equipment / plant designs. These are critical for equipment / plant performance and ease of maintenance.

Puzzolana is proud to state that they were the pioneers in manufacturing the country's first crawler mobile crushing & screening plants that can run on dual power. These hybrid models have diesel generator sets as a standard fitment. Where in the event of availability of  Grid Power, the machines can be operated with changeover switch. By connecting to the grid, the plant operator can avoid the challenges of managing large quantities of diesel in terms of paper work, transportation, storage & safety. This pioneering step has been a major attraction to customers who have appreciated the immense benefits that can be derived by using grid power, besides the low cost of production.

What are the main product offerings by Puzzolana in the crushing and screening sector?

In the construction industry, we will showcase our extensive range of crushers and screens, including jaw crushers, cone crushers, a new series of VSI crushers, sanders, plaster sanders, impactors, and hammer mills. Puzzolana has also introduced the new, rapidly deployable Speed Bharath Series, mobile crawler crushers, and various types of 2, 3, and 4-deck screens. Additionally, Puzzolana has developed a new range of P-Tech screens designed to handle high moisture content.

What sets Puzzolana's products apart from competitors, in terms of unique selling points (USPs) and key features that distinguish them?

Puzzolana introduced a new series of jaw crusher size 1500mm X 1280mm capable of crushing boulders up to +1200 mm for crushing, with a capacity range extending  upto 1000TPH. Furthermore to meet the output of Jaw Crusher and to address secondary applications, we have developed and launched a cone crusher with a capacity of up to 700TPH of (-) 45mm product and 350TPH of (-) 22mm

To prolong the lifespan of wear parts, especially in challenging conditions such as abrasive ores like quartzite, we have conducted extensive research on wear patterns and profiles of jaw plates and cone liners in such crushing plants. This research has led to the creation of customized designs tailored specifically for these applications, resulting in increased wear part durability.

The integration of larger machines optimizes plant configurations, requiring fewer crushers, while automation improves production capacities and facilitates mainte-nance, thus reducing operational costs and manpower requirements.

In summary, these advancements contribute to a reduction in the overall cost per tonne of production and enhance system efficiency, ultimately leading to a decrease in the cost per ton of production and maintenance friendly

How does Puzzolana ensure the technical resilience and adaptability of its crushers and screens to different terrain and soil characteristics?

Puzzolana has developed high-capacity, high-quality plants featuring larger, more productive crushers, along with expanded screens and feeders, to enhance our extensive range of equipment. This meets the current demand for aggregates in infrastructure projects. In mining applications, depending on the type of minerals, capacities range from 500 to 1000 TPH.

For quarrying applications, the choice of crushers depends on the terrain. For example, in hilly regions like Uttarakhand and the North East States, track plants with capacities up to 250-300 TPH are ideal due to their hybrid diesel and electric design. Conversely, for stationary plants serving super expressways, capacities typically start from 300 TPH and can extend up to 750 TPH.

Does Puzzolana cater to the African market, especially in countries like Kenya?

We have done a project of 350tph of (-)22mm for Lafarge Holchim Ltd, Zambai. We provided a Crawler Impactor of 170TPH to Ivory Coast, West Africa. We have also supplied Crushing & Screening Plants to Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda & Etophia.
